The life and teachings of Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda are perennial source of inspiration for Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission. The ideal of the twin organization is: “Atmano mokshartham jagad hitaya cha” – (For one’s own salvation, and for the welfare of the world.)
Shri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Dinajpur established in 1923, is one of the centres of Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, while Ramakrishna Mission, Dinajpur was started in 1990.
The Ashrama celebrates the birthdays of the saints and prophets of all religions along the daily worship of Sri Ramakrishna. It also conducts regular arati, prayers, bhajans and meditation. People of all walks of life irrespective of caste or creed visit the temple throughout the day to pray and meditate in its serene and silent atmosphere.
The monks of the Ashrama conduct regular religious discourses and spiritual retreat in the Ashrama and the private centres. They also go for religious lecture tours in the remote areas of Dinajpur and other districts like Rangpur, Kurigram, Rajshahi, Nilphamari, Bogra, Thakurgaon, Panchagar etc.
